Packaging personnel are difficult to find, train and keep. 30 new people come to the warehouse in the morning who have never done any packaging. They have to be trained. At 11 o'clock the first ones leave due to a lack of work ethic. The next day, only 12 of the 30 come. This is particularly tragic during peak periods such as Christmas or Black Friday.
Existing volume reduction machines have to be serviced several times a day. This means that qualified machine operators have to change the blades two or three times a day. These interruptions, which last several minutes, reduce your output. In addition, there are downtimes lasting days because customer service reacts too late. Thousands of parcels remain in storage. The machine and packing stations also take up space, which most shipping companies would prefer to use for storage. That's because 50 different types of box require space, and the higher the quantity, the cheaper the box.

HOW THE HVR HELPS YOU
With the HVR from Heripack, you can change that. It is a fully automatic volume reducer that reduces the height of your boxes to a minimum.
This means that your employees no longer have to select the best size from a range of boxes and then fill them. You save 30% of the time compared to manual packing. Less volume also means less air bubble film and CO₂ savings through reduced transport trips. This helps you to comply with the new EU Packaging Regulation.
With 30 packers, you save 10 employees and their packing stations. The HVR measures just 5290 mm x 2203 mm. You can fill the additional space in the warehouse with customer goods. You then no longer need 50 different types of packaging, but only five. Your larger purchase quantity means you get better prices. Let's say you buy one million boxes and save five cents per box. Then you save €50,000 as a result.
And that's just the beginning. Above all, you save the labor costs of the 10 employees. At €45,000/employee/year, that amounts to €450,000/year. HOW MAINTENANCE-PRONE IS THE HVR YOU ASK YOURSELF?
The cutting blades only wear out after weeks or months (instead of several times a day), depending on the material.
Should a fault occur, our customer service will help you immediately via remote maintenance. If necessary, they will travel to you within eight hours to maximize your uptime.
You don't need any software for the HVR. At the end of your conveyor system, you simply take out a piece and insert the HVR in between. This way, you can reduce your packaging costs and increase your output... without employing more staff.

PROCESS AND FUNCTION
With the Heripack HVR you can reduce the height of the case automatically to a minimum thanks to a sensor, which detects the height of the contents in the case at the infeed. This avoids voids in the packaging and more boxes can be transported per pallet/trolley. This saves money on logistics costs.
